One Week Spring Break
The Mission Board of Education has adopted a school calendar for the 2014-2015 school year that will continue with the established practice of a one week Spring Break. While the Board recognized that a number of our partner groups and families would have preferred to follow the trend of neighbouring School Districts in moving to a two week Spring Break, such a move would have left the Board with significant legal and financial risk. The Board is appreciative of a British Columbia Public School Employers' Association ('BCPSEA') offer to assist in addressing outstanding concerns.
The Board has made a commitment to re-examine the issue early in the new school year.
Families are advised that registration of students who will be seeking bus transportation for the 2014-15 school year will run from April 22 through June 30, 2014. In order to ride a district school bus all new and returning riders must register. School District policy applies to all applications and can be viewed here on our website.
Students that qualify to use district transportation services but who have not registered by June 30th will not be guaranteed a seat on a bus. Any registrations received after the June 30th deadline will incur a 20% surcharge fee.
Registration can be done in person at the School District Office at 33046 Fourth Ave during regular business hours 8:00am - 4:00pm M-F. If you are unavailable during those hours, alternate arrangements can be made by calling 604.826.6286 ext. 3246
